  • I work with tweens, teens, and adults ages 12+ across Tennessee and California.

    Emboldened Therapy is firmly anti-racist, anti-sexist, & LGBTQIA-allied, and serves folks from all flavors & cultures of life. Hate is not tolerated in this therapy space!

  • I specialize in anxiety, OCD and all its subtypes, like agoraphobia, panic disorder, social anxiety, hoarding, body dysmorphia, and trauma/PTSD. I also support issues that tend to show up alongside these specialties, such as body picking & pulling behaviors, insomnia, self-esteem struggles, grief, and depression. 

  • I use a variety of specialized therapies, including: 

    • EMDR, 

    • Exposure & Response Prevention, 

    • Habit Reversal Training, 

    • Comprehensive Behavioral Treatment (ComB), for Skin-Picking & Hair-Pulling

    • Internal Family Systems,

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,

    • Expressive art therapies—like music, art, and movement!

    I've strengthened my therapy practice over 14+ years of clinical experience, and I'm excited to offer you a custom blend of therapy to best meet your needs.

  • Before your first session, you'll receive a unique Zoom link for all appointments, also included in weekly reminders.

    For your session, you'll need a charged device with camera and sound enabled, the Zoom app, and optionally earbuds/headphones or a hydrating (non-alcoholic!) beverage. It can help to spend 5-10 minutes testing your settings before your 1st session!

    Please note: you, and only you, should be the person in this session. If you’d like someone else to be in your session, discuss this with me in your consultation. :)

  • Sessions are held on Mondays through Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST // 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST // 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM PST.

    Note that evening sessions are often in high demand and cannot be guaranteed as available at the time of your call.

    • Individual Counseling: $165 per 55-Minute Session

    • EMDR Intensives: $155/hour for 2-to-4 Hour Sessions (available to established clients on a case-by-case basis)

    Emboldened Therapy is considered an out-of-network (OON) Provider. I will provide you with monthly superbills that you can submit for potential OON insurance reimbursement if your plan has these benefits. 

    I also work with  Thrizer, a 3rd-party OON reimbursement platform, to make getting insurance reimbursement a bit smoother. Head to the Fees & Insurance page for more info about how this works!

  • The first session is a way for me to learn about you and the reasons you came to therapy. Before this session, you'll fill out some forms in a secure client portal to help us both prepare. I’ll then go over your responses beforehand so we can dive right into what matters most: you!

    Some questions I might ask you in that session could be:

    • What goals would you like to reach by going to therapy?

    • What do I need to know about you to understand your current challenges?

    • What's worked for you—in therapy, or in life—before? What hasn't worked?

    You can ask me questions, too! This is your space, and you can use it any way you need to.

    The most important part of a first session is that you see if you feel I’m a good fit for you. If you feel supported, seen, and at ease with me, we can discuss if you’d like to meet again.

  • Therapy is an investment in yourself, not a quick fix. And, for the therapies I specialize in, like EMDR and Exposure Response Prevention, weekly sessions are proven necessary for support and safety. With this in mind, we’ll start with weekly sessions to ensure your therapeutic well-being! 

    As our work progresses and you start feeling relief, we’ll move into a bi-weekly session framework until you feel you’ve met your goals and are ready to call it a wrap! 

  • Feeling like things you say or do in therapy could "get out" is a super common concern. I want you to know that unless you are in danger of seriously hurting yourself or someone else, or someone is seriously hurting you, your story is confidential and your session information is protected.

    I highly respect your privacy and value your trust. If you have specific questions about how confidentiality works, you can ask during a free consultation or any time during our work together.
