ABOUT EMBOLDENED THERAPY
Meet Kathryn Wood
My mission is to help you stop feeling frenzied and start experiencing true calm, confidence, and connectedness.
Are you ready to make a change?
It’s possible to break through the cycles that are keeping you stuck. Through our work together, you can learn practical ways to start showing up as the person you’ve always wanted to be.
MY APPROACH
How I Work
Deep & exploratory. We go beyond surface-level fixes and get to the root of your struggles.
Compassionate & empowering. Your emotional well-being is at the center of this work!
Highly individualized. You can expect tailor-fit therapy customized exactly for you.
Supportive & motivating. I’m here to celebrate you the entire way, through both the successes and stumbles.
Engaging & fulfilling. Therapy shouldn’t be boring, pointless, or draining. This is a space for insight, inspiration, and real-life leveling up!
Playful & humorous. This work is HARD, and we could all use a little light amid the dark!
More About Kathryn
Hi! I’m Kathryn, and I’m an experienced mental health professional offering high-quality, fully virtual counseling across Tennessee and California. I’m a multi-certified and licensed therapist with 14+ years of experience helping teens and adults find hope and healing on their mental health journeys.
I specialize in providing fully online therapy to teens and adults who’ve gone through some pretty tough stuff in their lives and are having difficulty finding a sense of peace amid spiraling cycles of anxiety, OCD, trauma, and related struggles.
I’ve also been on your side of the chair before, and know just how overwhelming it is to take the vulnerable step to seek support. With this in mind, my goal as your therapist is to create a supportive, empowering space where you can bring any stress or struggle and learn how to become more grounded in your everyday life.

FUN FACTS
Outside of the Therapy Room
When not providing therapy, you might catch me writing songs and playing music around Nashville and beyond
I’ve been a guest writer and panelist for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), To Write Love On Her Arms, & WWL-TV (New Orleans), and often research & write mental health-minded essays for digital de-stigmatization.
I believe that some of the quickest mood boosters are dance and laughter, so it’s not uncommon to find me busting a move in the grocery aisle, or telling a dad joke at the end of a heavy therapy session 🙃
